For over eighty years the St. Louis Alumnae Panhellenic Association has been part of the St. Louis community. We have grown from a group of women meeting in homes to an association of more than one hundred women representing twenty national sororities who are dedicated to the Panhellenic Creed of the National Panhellenic Conference.
Over thirty years ago, the delegates of our organization started a fund to offer scholarships to women who attend a Missouri college and graduated from a St. Louis area high school. We have awarded scholarships to hundreds of St. Louis area women over the past years. Today’s scholarship program now includes women who attend SIU-Edwardsville and requires an applicant to have at least a
3.5 grade point average. The scholarships are leadership based and evaluated on sorority and Panhellenic involvement, campus and community activities, honors, awards and the applicants’ personal efforts to finance her education.
To sustain the scholarship fund, an investment account was established over ten years ago to support our efforts. Our objective is to offer annually, a minimum of five (5) $1,000 undergraduate scholarships and one (1) $1,000 graduate scholarship to deserving collegians.
In prior years, the association has held an annual fundraiser to build the scholarship fund investment account. We are excited to say we have almost reached our financial goal set by our members to sustain our annual scholarship fund program. This year the St. Louis Alumnae Panhellenic Association is proudly making the commitment of “Securing our Future” by kicking off a ‘Campaign for Scholarship Endowment’. Our financial goal is to raise a minimum of $30,000 to create a self-sustaining Scholarship fund. The campaign will run from June 2016 through June 2017 with a two year option to fulfill pledged amounts by June 2018.
With your support of our ‘Campaign for Scholarship Endowment,’ we will be able to continue offering scholarships to deserving Panhellenic women! Donate here.
